2017 has been a year of great change we have seen too much violence, hatred of "groups", corruption, far too many in prison/jail with limited employment opportunities once they get out, families torn apart, unlimited addiction to screens, politics so divisive and hateful it is shameful, weather emergencies, fire outbreaks, mind blowing wealth for the few, etc.

But there is also beauty. Love. Friendship. Prayer. Thankfulness. Blessings. And relationships with God/Jesus. Gains in medial fields dealing with terrible medical conditions and diseases.

I wish everyone a happy Hanukkah, Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year.

If there are those in which you have adverse relations with perhaps now would be the time to get rid of that drama.

I wish this great nation the United States of America become more reflective of the people meaning the citizens. Benefits. Jobs. Security.

I wish all other nations peoples the same.

I miss my beloved sister Kimberly Ann

Life isn't fair.
Life has different meanings.
Life is complicated.
Life should be cherished.

My beloved sister Kimberly Ann Schrembs died at birth from the exact same disorder I had at birth 9 years earlier. So many "whys?".

It hurts to look at this photo. It hurts to think about what might have been. It hurts to know how much this hurt my mother. My God.

I post this to remember. To remind. She had a name. She had a mother. She had a father. She had 2 brothers. She had family. She was beautiful. The photos of her are forever etched in my mind this beautiful little girl in a white satin dress. I'm crying writing this. I loved her then and I do now. Hold on to your loved ones. Don't hesitate to care or to let them know you care. Life. Man.

I think of you with every breath I take.
Over these years you have grown so much. When I compare all the photographs, your drawings/artwork, and the videos (i.e. some before you were born, then when you were born, and so many. Your childhood is documented and I am so proud of you. You were our blessing from God and I thank him for you - your family - your brothers - your mother - etc.
I hope you grow up with confidence. With passions. With curiosity. With a thirst to learn. With thanks for all you have as so many care about, and love, you. Many you have never met. I hope you work hard. Enjoy reading books. Loving nature and the outside world away from Reston. I hope you try...hard. You were blessed with a strong mind and a fast learner. You truly can do anything if you absorb materials, books, sources, experts, and work hard. Go above and beyond.
Your mother carried you with the medical complications that could have resulted in a miscarriage. Everyone prayed for you during those months. I loved you before you were born and each minute afterward. We were the most excited parents in the world when you were born and you were...beautiful. Our hearts will always be linked throughout your life.
I have to go now.

I am saddened to convey that Mr. Scotty Moore passed away June 28, 2016 in Nashville at the age of 84.

I will keep Mr. Moores family, loved ones, friends, etc. in my prayers as I do not have the words to adequately express to his family other than to say he was an exceptional talent who shared his talents with the world and will never be forgotten.

Additionally, there are friends of Elvis Presley (some who worked with him for decades) who have lost their friend in Mr. Moore. They are, including but not limited to,; Marty Lacker, Red West, Sonny West, and Billy Smith. I will keep them in my prayers and I hope that others do as well.

How to Setup Epson Workforce 520 WIRELESS Internet by Jeff Schrembs March 2016

How to Setup Epson Workforce 520

WIRELESS Internet

1.   Make sure your printer is installed either with the software disk or by doing an internet search for “Epson Workforce 520 software”.

You can easily check this by accessing your “hardware” setting and it should show your Epson Workforce 520 printer.

2.  Turn on your printer.

3.   On the physical printer push the “menu” button

4.   On the physical printer push the “up” OR “down” arrows (which surround the “OK” button) until you get to “Network Setting” (which is # 9 option FYI)

·      For the next step you will need the NAME of your Wi-Fi and/or Internet name AND the password

5.  On the physical printer it will show “Wireless Lan” then “Wireless Lan Setup Wizard”.

6.  On the physical printer you just push “ok” when you find your Wi-Fi and/or Internet Network

7.  On the physical printer you will use the “keypad” (where it shows in large numbers 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 and 0 AND on each number button you will see the corresponding alphabet letters. This is where you will press the corresponding button to enter your PASSWORD.

·      Note – your password must be entered CASE sensitive. When you press the corresponding button, on the physical printer, it will show lower case letters first then capitalized letters next.

·      After you have the first number or letter, depending on your password, press the “RIGHT arrow” button so you can enter the second number or letter of your password. ** Take your time and check to make sure your password is entered correctly (it shows on the screen display on the physical printer) in its entirety.

·      After you have entered your password correctly push the “ok” button on the physical printer. ** note – on the display on the physical printer it will show you the status. If you entered the information correctly it will confirm so on the display.

·      8. Once the display, on the physical printer, confirms “success” (i.e. your Wi-Fi and/or Internet Network is now setup/finished) Then press “menu” button on the physical printer

·      9.  CELEBRATE as you are one step away from being done!

·      10. On your computer go to “Devices and Printers” and you will see “Epson 520 Workforce Network”. Right click on this and verify, or click on to activate, this is your default printer.

Prayers to those in the path of the winter storm & in need 1/21/2016

January 21, 2016 they tell us that in the Washington DC area, where I reside, we can expect between 12 - 24 inches of snow.

Since it has been my experience, since 1991 in this area, that if there is one snowflake falling traffic, which is already the worst in the nation, comes to a halt as the world's worst drivers flood the streets and highways.

Fortunatley, unlike Washington DC which had to apologize for NOT being ready for a winter snowstorm even though it has been predicted from the Farmers Almanac to Weather.com to the local news for weeks/months, there are many hard working profesionals who are prepared to not only clear the streets but to help those in need (i.e. food, shelter, clothing, etc.) but there are also good people/neighbors who go above and beyond to help.

My prayers go out to the sick, elderly, and poor not only in this area but across this nation and beyond.

As is the case every moment of everyday I think of, love, miss, pray for, want the best for, etc. my beloved children. No matter where you are, or where you go, I love you....always. Dad.

Microsoft Edge not working or showing up Windows 10 SOLUTION FIXED

Please use the following steps:

Open an Administrator CMD window.  If you can't find a way, use these steps:

Press CTRL+Shift+ESC to open Task Manager.
Click File > Run New Task
Make sure you have a check mark beside "Create this task with administrative privileges"
Type CMD
Type the following commands at the CMD prompt:
    dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
    sfc /scannnow

This step worked for me and I had been trying for months to find a solution and it was frustrating x 1,000,000. Let me know if it works for you.

Run these commands:
1) Type in "powershell"

2) Cut and paste this EXACTLY and include the { & the }

Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers |Where-Object {$_.InstallLocation -like "*SystemApps*"} | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

Check to be sure this command ran, showed a blue progress indicator and then returns to the prompt.

If you see a red error, then the command may have been typed or pasted incorrectly, or there may be an larger problem with Windows 10.  Try again.

Check to see if the issue is resolved.

If not, restart the PC.In this case try as a new administrator user account.

If the new user also fails, go up to the steps for "3. If EITHER command does not show." above. We need to repair Windows.

Great song from the 1970s and memories of days gone by

Eclectic.

Yes it is a real word that I have used occasionally.

No I didn't misspell it (though I am guilty of many misspellings and violations of the rules of grammar in many of my blogs, posts, etc. but I try) pertaining to "electric".

Yes I am an Elvis Presley fan and I enjoy so many of his songs from the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s. Some of which are well known and many others (the vast majority) are exceptional but not widely known by the general public including man Elvis Presley fans.

Back to eclectic. That is how I would describe my musical preferences. If it is of quality, sung with passion and real vocal talent, then odds are I would like it...as my song collection/playlists affirm.

The video of the song "don't pull your love" is one of the songs from my teenage years/youth that I enjoy. Not only do I listen to this song but I have some great memories associated with it. Music, and songs, have the ability to "move" us. To take us back to a certain time, place, event, etc. as is the case with this song.

Though I consider myself, and the IQ tests confirm YIPPEE, intelligent I still (after 52 and soon to be 53 years upon this earth) can't grasp that one's voice can be transferred by a microphone unto vinyl records, online streaming, cds, dvds, etc. Nonetheless I am glad that Edison gave this world, among many he achieved in his lifetime, the gift of recordings.

To think that someone, individually and/or collectively, wrote the words and then added a melody thus creating a song that is associated with a time long ago AND that still is enjoyed is remarkable. Hats off to every song writer, musician, singer, etc. Job well done.

Before I end this post, and thanks for reading, I was captivated by an hour long restoration project involving the largest pipe organ located in Atlantic City (I spend the weekend there once and I have special memories of her - of us - what once was). Here is the trailer via YouTube:

How to easily change your WordPress.com avatar (the small one that shows up next to posts and/or comments).

Please feel free to comment on this article and to share it via social media.

Step 1 - Sign into your WordPress.com blog/account

Step 2 - Click on "WP Admin" (it shows up on the left hand side)

Step 3 - Click on "Settings" (it also shows up on the left hand side
             but you have to scroll down to see it)

Step 4 - A new column will open up and click on "General"

Step 5 - Click on "Choose File" (it is on the right hand side and you should see the avatar that you want to change directly above)

Step 6 - Choose the picture on your computer that you want to be your new avatar

Step 7 - Click on "Upload Image"

Step 8 - A completely new page will open up which allows you to crop your new picture you want for your avatar. After cropping click on "Crop Image".

CONGRATULATIONS you are done!

How to easily replace the belt to a Maytag electric dryer

If you dryer is working, but it is not rotating/moving, odds are that the belt is broken or come loose. To cover your bases you can get a new belt at retail stores like Sears and also online for about $ 12.00.

The tools you will need are a screwdriver (phillips and non-phillips head) and a ratchet with sockets. The "screws" have small heads to them FYI.

Here is a great video that covers 90% of "step by step" instructions and the other 10% (i.e. additional 4 steps) I have outlined in writing below.

The first is to make sure that the belt is around the drum in the right place (i.e. look for a grove or use the black scuffs around the drum and put the belt exactly where the prior black scuffs were). Mine did not have any groove to put the belt on but it went in the middle of the drum and I used the black scuffs as a guide. This step must be done first because if you try to first attach it through the roller pulley, and motor, you will never be able to get the belt around the drum. Second is that you will need to put something under the drum (i used a shoe box) so it is in it's proper place, is level, and wont fall forward. Without this it is almost impossible to thread the belt to the pulley roller and motor. Third is to put the roller pulley (it has a yellowish roller with a black metal "z shaped" design) aligned with the two slots on bottom of dryver and HOLD IT DOWN to the floor of the dryer with your right hand at all times. Then put the belt through the roller pulley (this part is in the video) with your left hand and then put the belt on the motor. Last is to use your hands to slowly turn the top of the drum for about 30 seconds so that you know it works before you reinstall the front and top.

Six letters.
It's a trick and not...a good one.
It never gets better.
Everyday is another opportunity to find something else has gone wrong.
If I wasn't, as I have been these 5 years, already at the highest level of depression thinking about it would make me sad. And yet my faith will never waiver and I thank God for my loved ones, friends, fellow man, etc.
